The Very First Royal Rendezvous

On February 23, 2006, the Queen Mary and then-new Queen Mary 2 met for the very first time. It was the first Royal Rendezvous and it took place in Long Beach Harbor. The one-time Queen of the Seas from the Golden Age of transatlantic voyages was visited by the newest and largest ocean liner ever built. The mighty whistles of the RMS Queen Mary and Queen Mary 2 sounded a salute to one another that could be heard 10 miles away and around the world. For the first time, on a brilliant picture postcard Southern California day, the two greatest ocean liners of their time came together in Long Beach Harbor. Trans-Oceanic commemorates this event with a number of collectibles.

A limited number of giclées of this image are available. A giclee (pronounced zhee-CLAY) is an individually produced high resolution digital reproduction made on a special large format printer. While lithography uses dots to represent an image, a giclee uses continuous tones. This allows for more vivid colors and sharper details. Additionally, the gicless of this painting will be printed on canvas for an elegant look in your home or office that is as close to the original painting as possible. Each giclee is produced using eight-color pigmented inks on laboratory tested lightfast canvas stretched on a frame. It comes with a certificate of authenticity and both the certificate and giclee are signed by the artist.
